I want to thank you for arranging tours that made our trip to Rome and the Amalfi Coast so incredibly memorable. Laura, our Rome guide, is just the best. She knew how interested we were in art history, and went over and above to make sure we saw everything. She is incredibly knowledgeable, and a lot of fun. We also used two drivers. Fabio, in Rome, worked so well with Laura. Then, in Amalfi, Luigi took us on the coastal drive. What a great way to experience this area; one we had not previously visited. We will look forward to using your tours on the next trip to Italy! We can’t thank you enough for putting our tours together.
FLORENCE TO CORTONA AND AREZZO PRIVATE DAY TRIP
Gain insights into two well-preserved medieval Tuscan towns on this Florence to Cortona and Arezzo private day trip. Leave Tuscany’s busy capital behind and travel through the countryside with your personal driver/guide. Experience the highlights and delights of Cortona and Arezzo, two beautiful art towns linked to historical past traditions. Your day trip starts with hotel pickup by private vehicle for the 1-hour drive (traffic pending) from Florence to Cortona, made word-famous by Frances Mayes author of the Under the Tuscan Sun book. Enjoy the rolling Tuscan landscape of vineyards and cypresses en route. During the scenic journey your expert driver/guide provides a comprehensive and informative introduction to the colorful history and traditions of the area with insider anecdotes and knowledge, pointing out top sites and hidden gems.
Cortona is a small walled town perched atop a hill. The town offers sweeping views out over the surrounding countryside. Wander its cobbled streets and walk back in history. Feel the atmosphere of this medieval town enclosed by its original towering city walls. Cortona is also known for its excellent trattorias. Your driver/guide will be glad to suggest delicious choices, or you can let your taste buds be your guide. The choice is entirely yours! You will then head to Arezzo, where you will explore its well preserved historic center. The charm of Arezzo is twofold as it receives a fraction of the tourists of neighboring Florence and yet it has all the fascinating ambience of a well-preserved small city with stunning architecture, moving art and winding streets. At the same time Arezzo is a beloved and well used shopping town, especially if you like to browse quirky old antique stores, fine jewelry and leather goods. Florence to Cortona and Arezzo Private Day Trip
We thoroughly enjoyed both of our tours. On Monday, we toured with Laura. She was engaging and informative. We all learned so much. We had a fun trivia game at lunch after the tour, and we were very impressed with how much information our 7 and 9 year old girls retained. Laura made it interesting and presented the information in a way that they could understand.
On Tuesday, we toured the Vatican and also had a great experience. Our guide was patient and full of interesting information. He also presented the tour in a way that the children could understand. He was very knowledgeable, and we really enjoyed our time with him. We would definitely recommend Nancy Aiello Tours for other families with children. We were very pleasantly surprised by the guides and how they interacted with our children on an age appropriate level. We saw the tours of people wearing headphones and were immediately relieved that we had fun, interactive, engaging private guides for our children and for ourselves. We found Nancy Aiello Tours first through a blog online about a father traveling with his son. I looked up “Seeing Rome with children”. We then researched your company and saw a lot of positive feedback. Thank you again!
Excellent experience – from the booking through the actual tours. We appreciated having the same tour guide (Laura) for both our evening tour and our walking tour of old Rome. Our experience with Nancy Aiello Tours was enlightening. I booked the tours because it was my family’s first visit to Rome and I wanted to ensure that they had an understanding of the history and saw the highlights. My sister and I have been to Rome several times (walking with a guide book, taking big bus tours for a day, etc) but we “saw” so much more on our tours with Laura. I have already recommended you to a colleague who will be in Rome with his family in November. I had googled “what to do with kids in Rome” and found a mommy travel blog that recommended your agency, so I took a look at your website and decided to ask some questions (less than 2 weeks before our arrival in Rome). We were fortunate enough to book 2 different tours.
